Laurie Yeames
Laurie Lubeck Yeames trained at the prestigious Maryland Youth Ballet. She received additional training on full scholarship at American Ballet Theater for four years, the School of American Ballet, and Ecole de Danse Classique de Monte Carlo – Ecole de Princess Grace. Ms. Yeames was a member of the Maryland Youth Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet, and Chicago Lyric Opera companies. She has taught and choreographed for over twenty plus years for many schools and companies including Princeton Ballet School, North Star Ballet in Alaska, Ballet Hawaii, Saratoga City Ballet, Eglevsky Ballet and American Theater Dance Workshop. Ms. Yeames was the founding director of Eglevsky Youth Ballet in New York. She has been ballet mistress for the Eglevsky Ballet, North Star Ballet, Ballet Hawaii, and Saratoga City Ballet. Ms. Yeames has choreographed extensively for all these companies, as well as some musical theater productions including “Jesus Christ Superstar” for the University of Fairbanks. Many of her students have gone on to professional careers of their own. In addition, Ms. Yeames spent two years as an instructor for American Repertory Ballet’s Dance Power, an outreach program, and has performed numerous residency programs in public schools. She has been an adjudicator for several dance competitions and had a feature article in Pointe magazine about her pre-pointe syllabus. Ms. Yeames was Classical Ballet Specialist for UNC- Chapel Hill for six years and recently received certification in the American Ballet Theater’s National Training Curriculum – Primary through Level 7 and Partnering.
