Helen Hickey
Helen Hickey is a teacher, dancer, and choreographer born in Chicago, IL and raised in Chapel Hill, NC. While growing up in Chapel Hill she studied with Gene Medler and was a member of The North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble. With NCYTE, she was able to travel all over the country and perform at many different venues including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Ms. Hickey has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from UNC Greensboro, and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College. She has taught at many places throughout the triangle including Enloe High School, Ninth Street Dance, and Barriskill Dance where she is the Director of the Tap Program. She is Director and founder of Helen Hickey Dance Company and is a member of Footnotes Tap Ensemble.
